The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) is inviting local elementary and middle school students to submit artwork to promote its 2012 RTC Anti-Graffiti Art Contest. The theme is Keep Southern Nevada Graffiti Free.
The RTC is challenging students in the Las Vegas Valley and surrounding areas to create artwork that encourages Southern Nevada residents to respect each other’s property and not devalue and deface it with graffiti.
The grand prize winners’ artwork will be unveiled at a special event hosted by the RTC on December 6. The top entries will also be featured on a on a RTC vehicle and other transit amenities for up to one year. Crime Stoppers has offered 10 shelter ads through Outdoor Promotions to display the Top 10 pieces of art.
Artwork submitted for the contest must be in color; no black and white, photography or glitter will be accepted. Permissible art tools include markers, crayons, colored pencils or paints. Students must submit the artwork on an 11″-by-17″ piece of paper to be considered in the contest.
The deadline for artwork is 5 p.m. Oct. 25. It can be mailed to or delivered to the RTC Administrative Office, 600 S. Grand Central Parkway, Suite 350, Las Vegas, NV, 89106; Attention: Aileen Pastor.
