President signs Diesel Emissions Reduction Act

On Tuesday President Obama endorsed the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act, a move that provides money to reduce school bus and diesel vehicle emissions for another five years. In deliberations over the law, politicians reduced the original proposal of $200 million to $100 million to fund the program.  The National School Transportation Association supported changes that included an allowance for direct applications from private entities under contracts with federal, state and local governments.
