Naming rights await MBTA properties

In an effort close a budget gap estimated to be $137 million for fiscal year 2013, Boston-based Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority is welcoming RFPs to sell naming rights for its bus, commuter rail and subway lines and stations to its Web site and Charlie Card. According to the Boston Herald, nearly 90 consultants have shown interest in the idea. Wednesday was the deadline for proposals. MBTA officials hope to raise about $250,000 through the naming program.
