Oakland, CA-based AC Transit has reached collective bargaining agreements with three separate employee groups that represent managers, professionals, supervisors, para-professionals and administrative staff. Representatives of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1245, The American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees Local 3916 and Unrepresented Employees reached an agreement to contribute 10 percent of the cost of monthly medical and dental insurance premiums and receive one less paid holiday. The terms also include a 5 percent wage reduction through June 2013 for AFSCME workers. Unrepresented workers’ pay will be slashed by 3 percent, which goes along with a cancellation of a planned 2 percent increase a year ago. For more, visit www.actransit.org.
