Sun Travel Trailways takes delivery from Temsa

“It all just came together ” according to Michael LaBrie, President of Beaumont, Texas based Sun Travel Trailways. “In 1990, while on a business trip, I spotted a 1968 Eagle for sale. I had no money, but tons of fond memories of hanging out at the Greyhound Bus Station that my Mom managed while I was growing up. In a sense buses were my babysitter.”

In short order his brother helped him obtain a loan, and a neighbor who mentioned that he used to drive coaches, picked it up and transported it home for him… much to his wife’s surprise. The neighbor drove, his Mom arranged tours and the LaBrie’s church needed transportation… fast forward 26 years and Sun Travel’s motorcoach fleet has grown to 15 luxury coaches.

Success in the motorcoach business enabled LaBrie to diversify, and Sun Travel (suntravel.org) currently offers the Beaumont area limousine and airport van service, convention shuttles, as well as an RV sales division in addition to nationwide motorcoach charters.

A lifelong resident of Beaumont, LaBrie pastors a local church as well as being involved in many community and industry-related organizations, including the Better Business Bureau, United Motorcoach Association, Trailways Transportation System, The National Limousine Association, and The South Central Motorcoach Association. He also serves as a board member for many local Beaumont charitable organizations including the Salvation Army and Some Other Place (www.someotherplacebeaumont.com/) .

“Sun Travel specializes in providing churches, schools, businesses and the military with quality charter coaches to anyplace in the US and Canada” says LaBrie “We are passionately committed to offering our community superior service. We focus on our customers’ needs… and some groups and athletic teams wanted smaller coaches… but with plenty of underfloor baggage space and the same quality experience as a 45’ luxury motorcoach. Temsa’s TS 35 seemed perfect, and I’ve known and respected CH Bus Sales’ Tim Vaught for years.”

Sun Travel recently took delivery of two new 40 passenger Temsa TS 35’s powered by Cummins ISL 8.9 liter 345 HP engines coupled to Allison B500 transmissions. They feature WiFi, 110 volt outlets, USB ports, and REI luxury entertainment systems and Alcoa Durabright Aluminum wheels. The TS 35s offer 245’ of luggage space and a stainless steel frame that meets the stringent UN/ECE R66 rollover standards.

Tim Vaught, CH Bus Sales Vice President, points out that “Mike LaBrie is a role model for all that’s best in the motorcoach industry. He’s deeply involved in his community in so many ways… and Sun Travel Trailways is a genuine expression of his commitment to service. He bought these coaches because he listened to his customers… and he brings that attitude to every aspect of his business and his life. All of us at CH and Temsa are proud to be part of Sun Travel’s growth”
