For the first time in its nearly 80-year history, Peter Pan Bus Lines is now being run by someone other than a member of the Picknelly family.
On Thursday Peter Pan officials announced that Brian Stefano, who joined Peter Pan over two decades ago, became the company’s new President and Chief Financial Officer. Stefano took over as President on May 15. He joined Peter Pan back in 1990 as vontroller. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer of the bus line.
Previous President Peter A. Picknelly is moving to the role of Chairman and CEO of Peter Pan, a position that has been vacant since Picknelly’s father, Peter L. Picknelly, died in 2004.
Picknelly will be still be involved in the operation of the bus company, but will now be able to devote more time to businesses owned by the family, including Camfour, and Belts Technologies, as well as continuing to expand OPAL, Picknelly’s real estate development firm.
This change marks the first time since the company’s founding in 1933 by Peter C. Picknelly that a Picknelly has not served as President.
