‘Special delivery’ arrives at Alabama Greyhound station

On a Sunday evening in late January, Zeina Bensouda stood in the Greyhound bus station in Mobile, AL preparing to purchase a ticket back to her home in Nashville, TN. Nature forced her into a slight detour. Less than eight months pregnant, Bensouda’s special “carry on” item decided to arrive earlier than expected.

As emergency crews raced to the station, Greyhound staff tended to the new mother-to-be, making her as comfortable as possible. Seven minutes later, Ms. Bensouda gave birth to a healthy 8-pound, 10-ounce boy in the lobby of Mobile’s Greyhound station.

She named her son Irahima Fall Greyhound Nigom.

Now back in Nashville, Benouda is very thankful for the kindness and attentiveness of the Greyhound crew.

“The staff was very helpful and I thank them for their assistance,” Bensouda said. “I have been a long-time customer of Greyhound and look forward to sharing this experience with my son when he is older.”
