SEPTA sells bus for $1 to PA first responders

The Department of Emergency Services in Haverford Township, PA is the new owner of a retired 1996 SEPTA bus for the price of $1. According to Mainline Media News, SEPTA sold the bus for 100 pennies to Haverford officials to use for firefighters who need rehabbing at the scene of fires. The bus will help cool firefighters as medical teams monitor vital signs to prevent exhaustion, heart problems and to warm first responders in frigid temperatures. The bus has already been used. In a recent SWAT emergency, Haverford police used the bus to cool off during the standoff.
