Overnight sleeper service next for UK Megabus

On Sept. 5, UK bus travelers from London to Glascow will be able to catch a few winks before arriving at their destination. Megabus plans to launch England’s first budget sleeper coach service, with three buses fitted with 24 berths and seats running seven days a week. Passengers will be offered their own sleeping berth for the overnight trip. A reading light, blanket and pillow are provided, and curtains provide privacy. Overnight passengers will also receive a pack containing a toothbrush, toothpaste and an eye mask. Cost for the sleeper service can run $65.

Stagecoach Group Chief Executive, Sir Brian Souter, said: “Traveling overnight is a great way to save time, and we’ve already seen growing demand for our night-time megabus.com journeys. The new sleeper services will offer extra comfort and facilities, but still at excellent value for money prices. We’ve always been at the forefront of innovative ways to make public transport more attractive and convenient for people. We believe the best way to find out if it’s a service our customers want is by offering them the chance to try it out for real. Traveling direct from city center to city center beats the hassle of a red-eye flight from an airport and is a greener, smarter way to travel.”
