Investigation continues in bus shooting incident

Authorities in Richmond, CA are still investigating a case of shots fired at a bus last week that left one man injured from shattered glass. The incident occurred last Wednesday night in the North Richmond area. Police believe the bus was the target of a group of men who quickly scattered after the bullet hit the bus. According to the Contra Costa Times, the bus driver said a group of men approached the bus. One boarded, looked toward the back of the bus, and then exited. Moments later a shot was fired. Police believe a person riding on the bus was the specific target.

The latest shooting is another in a string of violent incidents that has prompted AC Transit bus drivers to request armed security. Drivers have threatened to even abandon one route because of repeated incidents of gun fire. Last year, AC Transit considered canceling the route, but decided against it.
