Inspectors win honors at CVSA awards presentation

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s (CVSA) North American Inspectors Championship was held August 2-8 in Columbus, OH. Some 53 roadside inspectors from North America competed for top honors. Richard Robinson, a CVSA-certified inspector, won the Jimmy K. Ammons Grand Champion Award for performances in seven competitions. Robinson excelled at the North American Standard Level 1 Inspection and Standard HasMat/Transportation of Dangerous Goods Inspection. Other winners were Arkansas’ James Canard, who won for High Points United States, and John Jackson of Alberta, Canada, who took home the award for North American Standard level V Passenger Vehicle (Motorcoach) Inspection. Nevada’s Christopher Smithen was awarded the John Youngblood Award of Excellence.
