Goodyear, L.A. Metro finalize five-year tire and service agreement

The nation’s second largest transit bus fleet will be rolling on Goodyear tires for the next five years. The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) has finalized an agreement with the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company to use its tires and tire-related services. The deal brings Metro and Goodyear together again. Goodyear supplied tires and services to Metro from 1985 to 2006. More than 2,500 vehicles make up L.A. County’s fleet of both conventional and 60-foot articulated buses. Metro has a yearly ridership of more than 447 million and provides service to nearly 16,000 bus stops.
