The Jacksonville Transportation Authority has four fewer bus drivers today. The agency suspended four drivers after discovering they did not have valid driver’s licenses. During a driver’s licenses check of all employees agency authorities found the invalid licenses. The licenses check was prompted by a Jacksonville Times-Union investigation on the criminal and driving records of JTA bus drivers.
The drivers will not be able to work until their licenses become valid. The paper reported that it was not clear if the drivers will be paid while suspended or what punishment they could face in the future.
