Eight Americans killed in Egypt bus crash

A bus rammed into a truck parked on a single-lane desert road in southern Egypt Sunday, killing eight American tourists – six women and two men – and injuring 21 others. Four people remain in critical condition. The tourists were part of a group being transported from Aswan to the ancient temples along Lake Nasser. Authorities say the bus slammed into a parked truck loaded with sand just before dawn. Footage from the accident showed the right side of the bus completely peeled away. The bus was carrying 37 passengers. The Egyptian bus driver and tour guide were also injured. Egypt is notorious for its lax transportation regulations and poor roadways.
