A series of physical attacks on three Washington, D.C. Metro bus drivers in one week has sparked calls for more police protection on vehicles. According to The Washington Post, at a Monday night town-hall meeting bus drivers voiced their concerns about the rise in attacks while on duty, and added that management isn’t responding to their complaints. They also claim bus radios and security cameras are not working. The Post reported that more than 20 transit officers, some in plain clothes, issued six citations for a number of offenses and two warnings on just one day this week.
