CVSA’s Brake Safety Week approaches

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance is highlighting the issue of poorly adjusted and malfunctioning air brakes as the organization prepares for Brake Safety Week, to be held September 12-18. Brake system defects and out of adjustment brakes are two of the major reasons commercial vehicles are put out of service during roadside inspections. Top performing brakes are essential in commercial vehicles, since the stopping distance is considerably more than that of cars and motorcycles. Brake Safety Week is held in conjunction with the CVSA’s Operation Air Brake Campaign, a program to reduce the out-of-service rate for brake-related problems. The special week will focus on increasing knowledge, regulatory compliance and performance of commercial vehicle braking systems. For more, visit www.cvsa.org.
