Bridgestone increases prices 8 percent

The cost of operating buses and trucks is rolling upward. Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations announced today an 8 percent increase in price for tires fitted on buses and trucks, along with agricultural and off-road vehicles. Company Chairman Eduardo Minardi said the increase was due to what he called “market pressures,” which include the cost of energy, transportation and raw materials. Minardi added, quote, “While we are always working to balance cost and deliver a premium package of value to our customers, we have reached a point where we must respond.” Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations is based in Nashville, TN.
