Blown tire suspected in deadly NY bus crash

Authorities say a blown front tire was the cause of a tour bus crash near Avoca, NY on Monday that killed two women from India and left 34 others injured. The 2007-model motorcoach landed in a heavily wooded median that separates Interstate 390. The tires on front of the bus were new. The driver, 58-year-old John Dinardo Jr., had a valid driver’s license and had no violations or criminal history. State police say Dinardo was not impaired by alcohol and was not driving fatigued.

According to USA Today, the bus is owned by Bedore Tours of North Tonawanda near Buffalo. The bus was carrying a tour group to Niagara Falls after leaving Washington, D.C. Sunday morning.
