Birmingham, AL-based Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority has created a local government committee to both attract more statewide transit funding and to monitor transit legislation matters. According to The Birmingham News, the nine-month pilot program will use the time to evaluate whether a long-term investment is required. The agency has allocated a $20,000 total budget for the project.
