APTA report: Public transit can save $9,500 annually

A new report released by the American Public Transportation Association shows how using public transit leads to financial savings. APTA’s November 2010 Transit Savings Report reveals that utilizing public transportation can save an individual on average more than $9,500 and up to nearly $800 per month. The figures were based on the November 8 average national gas price ($2.85) and the national unreserved monthly parking rate. The report shows the monthly savings is up 3.5 percent from a year ago.
