Reduced height opens new route options across North America
Alexander Dennis Inc (ADI) will introduce a stylish new look to its double-deck bus range during APTA EXPO 2011 in New Orleans, LA, Oct. 3-5.
The company says all three options in the ADI product line-up — transit, commuter and open-top — are the beneficiaries of a stunning new look progressively rolling over the next 18 months, including those vehicles of significant new transit orders that ADI will likely announce from the exhibition floor.
The striking new appearance comes on the back of fleet sales in recent years to Vancouver, Toronto, New York, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Washington, DC and Seattle, all of which have carved out a unique place for ADI double decks in the transport landscape of North America.
Adding to the appeal of the high-capacity, three-axle Enviro500 models, ADI is also set to announce plans for a new low-height, “go anywhere” double deck range.
These buses will feature the same 100-passenger capacity as existing models and retain the maneuverability that makes the Enviro500 a favorite with drivers. Not only different in appearance, the reduced height is a very significant feature that will open a raft of new route options across the U.S. and Canada.
