The “T” begins new Spur Line

Fort Worth’s The “T” transit authority unveiled its new Spur Line Sunday in southeast Fort Worth. The new line will feature 60-foot, 80-passenger articulated buses and are equipped with technology to turn red lights green. The vehicles are about triple the capacity of most other “T” buses. Late last year The “T” purchased eight NABI articulated buses for more than $6 million to use on what is called the enhanced bus corridor, a six-mile stretch of Lancaster Avenue in Fort Worth. According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the new Spur route is expected to service about 3,600 passengers a day. Updates to bus stops, sidewalks, kiosks and other improvements are in the works.
