Mobility Ventures was at Booth 1446 in Hall A of APTA’s EXPO showcasing two models of the MV-1, the only purpose-built vehicle that meets or exceeds the guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The 2014 MV-1 DX, as well as the newly introduced luxury model, the LX, were available for attendees to explore during the EXPO.

“Our participation in the APTA Annual Meeting and EXPO is an important part of our commitment to providing a safe and affordable accessible option for public transportation,” said John Walsh, Mobility Ventures Vice President for Sales and Marketing. “The American-made MV-1 is uniquely designed and manufactured to transport people who use wheelchairs. We look forward to showcasing what has made this vehicle the clear choice for dozens of accessible public transit systems operating hundreds of MV-1’s across America.”

MV-1s are designed with a focus on passenger safety, factory-built to rigorous specifications, tested and certified to meet government crashworthiness standards. Today, the MV-1 continues to be the safest wheelchair accessible vehicle on the market as demonstrated by the extensive crash testing the vehicle has undergone.  Because Mobility Ventures is the Original Equipment Manufacturer of the MV-1, the vehicle meets all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards direct from the factory with no modifications to include an ADA compliant side entry curb-side design. Additionally, the MV-1 is more durable and cost effective to own and operate than a traditional retrofitted van or bus. It is dedicated to transporting all passengers, with or without mobility challenges with dignity, making it the perfect solution for both consumer and commercial fleet services.

The MV-1 is also the only vehicle in its class available with a standard gasoline 4.6 liter engine or a factory-installed clean-burning Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fuel option.  With its 290-mile range, the MV-1 CNG version contributes to the efforts to reduce American dependence on foreign oil and substantially reduces light-duty fleet emissions and costs, while at the same time dramatically increasing the quality of life for millions of Americans with physical disabilities.
