A rash of fights and violent incidents on Milwaukee County transit buses has prompted the Milwaukee County police chief to continue having officers board county buses as part of their regular jobs. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Chief Edward Flynn told city officials on Wednesday his police officers will remain a presence on county buses.
Flynn’s officers have been targeting the 2 to 4 p.m. time frame and monitoring seven particular spots where past incidents have occurred most. The Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) is the largest transit agency in Wisconsin, and is the primary transit provider for Milwaukee County. It ranks among the Top 50 transit agencies in the U.S. and has more than 400 buses in its fleet.
