A memorial service will be held today for Robert (Bob) J. Beard, who passed away on Dec. 9. The service will be conducted at the Peace Lutheran Church in Waldorf, MD, beginning at 2 p.m. Eastern time on Thursday. The church is located at 401 Smallwood Dr. in Waldorf. Beard was a Trailways bus operator from 1961 to 1987 and very respected in the bus industry as a professional bus man and a devoted volunteer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Hospice Care, 3675 Solomon Island Road, Harwood MD, or The Museum of Bus Transportation, 161 Museum Drive Hershey PA, 17033. Cards may be sent to the Peace Lutheran Church.
