MD bill would OK bus camera footage for traffic tickets

If Maryland lawmakers have their way, local jurisdictions could issue $250 tickets to drivers caught breaking the law by using cameras installed on school buses. The bill is currently being pushed through the state Senate. According to The Washington Examiner, under the measure motorists caught illegally passing a school bus could be slapped with a $250 ticket. It would be up to the school bus driver to notify police of specific violations and to transfer tapes to authorities. Jurisdictions would have little hindrance in writing the tickets, but all would have to employ an officer to review the tapes. For more, visit www.washingtonexaminer.com.
