Matthews Buses signs pact with Bus and Coach America

Matthews Buses has entered into an agreement with Bus and Coach America to distribute and service their new North American motorcoach products.

Designed and built by an Australian manufacturer, Bus and Coach International, the Explorer 45 is the first product they’ve built exclusively  for the North American market. Introduced this past October at BUSCON, the Explorer 45 is a full size motorcoach that features a unique monocoque stainless steel structure and a seating capacity of 56. Arriving in early 2012, that same engineering will be featured in the Cruiser 40, a 49-seat motorcoach less a tag axle.

With multiple facilities from New England to Florida and points in between, Matthews Buses will be the exclusive dealer for Bus and Coach America in the Northeast, the Carolinas, and the Southeast.

“When I first met the BCA team and inspected the prototype bus, I was very impressed”, said Glenn Matthews, president and owner of Matthews Group. “Our network of service and parts facilities is well suited to support this product”.

Although Matthews Buses will be the primary warehouse for BCI parts on the east coast, both products are built with U.S. components and “off the shelf” parts, allowing operators the choice to source locally. This strategy is customer focused specific to the motorcoach operator who needs the quickest turnaround possible.

Matthews Buses will be covering all the New England states, plus New York and New Jersey in the Northeast. Matthews will represent the BCI product line throughout the southeast, including the states of North and South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Mississippi.
