Lawmaker’s BUSES law proposal finds ally in Greyhound

Congressman Bill Shuster’s introduction of the Bus Uniform Standards and Enhanced Safety (BUSES) Act of 2011 has found an ally in Greyhound. Officials for the coach company in a statement on Monday supported Shuster’s bill that would hold motorcoach carriers to higher standards.

Dave Leach, Greyhound’s president and CEO, said, “The safety and security of our 19.8 million passengers is our core value and a responsibility. We support and will implement any regulations that provide passengers with even safer forms of transportation.”

Greyhound is a division of FirstGroup America and employs nearly 8,000 and operates 2,200 buses throughout North America. For more, visit www.greyhound.com.
