The American Bus Association and the Bus Industry Safety Council (BISC) have earned the praise of Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood for its commitment to the safety and security of motorcoach operators and passengers. In a press release, LaHood wrote, “The Council’s mission, ‘to develop and promote methods, materials, and procedures to improve motorcoach safety’ makes the BISC a natural partner in FMCSA’s own safety efforts. By focusing on three core safety principles, FMCSA and the American Bus Association have worked effectively toward a safer motorcoach industry.”
LaHood’s praise received a reply from ABA President and CEO Peter Pantuso. “We look forward to continuing to work together with the Secretary, FMCSA and everyone at the Department of Transportation to make motorcoach travel, which is the safest form of surface transportation, even safer.” For more, visit www.buses.org.
