IL police: Greyhound driver fell asleep before crash

Authorities in Illinois say a bus crash on Tuesday that injured two people occurred when the Greyhound bus driver fell asleep at the wheel. According to the Beacon-News, Tuesday at 8:19 a.m. on Interstate 88 near Sugar Grove, IL a Greyhound bus rear-ended a construction truck. The impact caused the truck to slam into another truck. There was no one on the bus at the time.

The bus driver, 53-year-old John Hudson of Calumet Park, was trapped in the bus before crews extracted him and transported him to a hospital. He has been charged with improper lane usage, operating a commercial vehicle while ill or fatigued, and failure to maintain a log book.
