A woman accused of stripping off some of her clothing on a Boston transit bus then spiting in the driver’s face and hitting her with a metal pipe is due in court Tuesday. According to the Boston Herald, authorities on Monday charged 36-year-old Natacha Andre with assault and battery and wrongful interference with the operations of a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority vehicle .
Police say the alleged incident began when Andre boarded the Route 31 bus without paying a fare. When the driver ordered her to pay, Andre refused. She then allegedly began ringing the bell repeatedly while not disembarking at the stops. Soon after, Andre began disrobing and changing her clothing. When the driver told her she could not do that, Andre became angry and spit in the driver’s face when getting off the bus. Andre allegedly brandished a metal pipe, hit the side of the bus, and then hit the driver through an open window. The driver was treated for bruises and a sprained left arm. Bail has been set at $5,000, and the judge ordered the woman to stay away from the Route 31 bus. For more, visit www.bostonherald.com.
