FMCSA safety initiative kicks off December 12

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Comprehensive Safety Analysis (CSA) initiative will start being enforced on December 12. The program will score motor carriers and drivers on seven behavioral categories, which could led to interventions against the worst safety performers. Overall, the FMCSA will employ a more strategic approach to addressing motorcoaches and motor carriers with a history of violations. Roadside inspectors will also be alerted to a carriers’ history of violations.  While organizations like the American Trucking Association and others support CSA 2010, there are still concerns of how the new rules will affect the motorcoach and trucking industries.
