FMCSA Motorcoach Safety Summit begins Friday

Motorcoach company owners, drivers, safety advocates, tour operators and elected officials convene in Washington, D.C. on Friday for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s national Motorcoach Safety Summit. The gathering will help to develop recommendations to raise and improve safety throughout the motorcoach industry. Secretary of U.S. Department of Transportation Ray LaHood and Anne S. Ferro, administrator at U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier will take part in the summit.

Information garnered from a series of regional roundtables in Dallas, TX; Columbus, OH; Anaheim, CA and New York City will be the basis of the national summit’s panel discussions and sessions. The summit will also be webcasted. The public can go to www.motorcoachsafety.ideascale.com, review stakeholder input from each roundtable and submit additional comments. FMCSA will make the summit available via webcast by visiting the agency’s website at www.fmcsa.dot.gov.
