First Transit, Inc., a private provider of transit management and contracting services, was recently awarded the paratransit contract for the Transit Authority of River City (TARC) in Louisville, KY. The company will oversee the operation of the paratransit service beginning Oct.1, 2012. This contract includes the management of 180 employees and the operation of 91 vehicles, which safely transport 350,000 passengers each year.
“We understand the importance our paratransit riders place on the transit system and we look forward to continuing to provide safe and reliable transit service throughout the city,” said First Transit and First Services President Brad Thomas.
First Transit provides complete operations, transit management and contracting services. In addition, the company establishes comprehensive preventative maintenance and inspection programs throughout the country to meet customer transportation and budgetary needs.
