The American Bus Association claims the economic impact of motorcoach travelers in southeastern Pennsylvania last year was more than $271 million. According to the Philadelphia Business Journal, 1.4 million visitors spent money at various events, attractions and hotels in the area. Motorcoach business generated an estimated $22.5 million for fuel, parking and repairs, nearly $60 million on retail purchases, $45.2 million on food and beverages and more than $7.3 on accommodations. The Journal reports that the region had 31,100 motorcoach visits last year; about 40 percent of motorcoach spending was in Philadelphia County alone.
