Indian Trails, Michigan Flyer unveil new Prevost H3-45s

Indian Trails of Owosso, Michigan, a family-owned intercity motorcoach carrier for over 100 years, recently acquired six new 2012Prevost H3-45 luxury motorcoaches.

Ody Norkin, Michigan State's "Sparty" and Chad Cushman are thumbs up for the new Prevost coaches.

Four of the new H3-45s are racking up miles for Michigan Flyer, the luxury motorcoach service jointly owned by Indian Trails and Okemos Travel that provides affordable round-trip transportation between East Lansing, Jackson, Ann Arbor, and Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

Gordon Mackay, president of Indian Trails, explained that the new coaches represent a $2,124,000 million infrastructure upgrade for Michigan Flyer, which transports over 90,000 passengers per year and has achieved an extraordinary 99 percent rate of on-time arrivals and departures.

The other two H3-45 coaches are part of the regular Indian Trails fleet, which provides charters, tours, shuttles, casino runs, and daily scheduled service. With one of Michigan’s largest and newest deluxe motorcoach fleets, Indian Trails carries over 1 million passengers annually.

The state-of-the-art 2012 Prevost’s have made the Indian Trails fleet one of the first in the state to be equipped with near-zero emission Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology.

“We’re proud that our fleet exceeds EPA 2010 standards on air pollutants and also achieves high fuel economy,” said Mackay. “Each vehicle represents the potential to take 50 automobiles off the highway, further reducing air pollution, traffic congestion, and dependence on foreign oil.”

The new H3-45s are equipped with ADA-compliant removable wheelchair lifts and features that ensure passenger safety. They include the Prevost Electronic Stability Program, GPS, 3-point passenger seatbelts, Prevost Fire Detection and Suppression System, and Prevost Tire Pressure Monitoring System.
