Cleaire LongMile system verification reinstated
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has reinstated the verification of Cleaire’s LongMile diesel particulate filter system.
On Sept. 17, CARB directed Cleaire Advanced Emission Controls to suspend the sales and installation of the LongMile system. CARB issued an executive order reinstating the LongMile verification on Dec. 7.
On Sept. 7, a LongMile diesel particulate filter was suspected in a 3,600-acre fire in Washington State along Highway 97. Authorities suspected the fire began when sparks from a truck ignited dry grass along the roadside.
In order to lift the suspension, Cleaire had to satisfy a number of CARB directed requirements.
“Cleaire was able to expeditiously address each of the CARB requirements through a dedicated effort by Cleaire staff, our dealers, CARB, and end user customers in order to bring the LongMile back to the market,” said Cleaire CEO Gale Plummer. “We are pleased that we were able to satisfy the CARB requirements in less than 90 days.”
