Homeless man uses bus after bank robbery

Tampa, FL police arrested 27-year-old Elmer McGuirt on Thursday after he allegedly robbed a Wachovia bank and made his getaway on a public bus. According to NBC Miami, McGuirt, who is homeless, entered the bank around 4:30 p.m., handed a teller a note demanding money, then walked out moments later with an undisclosed amount of cash.

After hopping onto a public bus, McGuirt turned into a modern-day Robin Hood by handing out some of the money to passengers. As soon as the bus pulled over, officers were waiting for McGuirt. Police said some of the money given to passengers was returned. For more, visit www.nbcmiami.com.
