Greyhound takes on Megabus.com in Midwest

Greyhound has received a very positive response to the Dec. 1 launch of its new express service in several Midwest cities. Greyhound began $1 fares in direct competition to the successful Megabus.com. Greyhound customers are now experiencing faster trips from hubs in Chicago, Milwaukee and Madison, WI, Minneapolis, MN, and Indianapolis and Lafayette, IN. The new buses feature reserved seating and onboard amenities, including free WiFi, power outlets and more leg room.

“Greyhound recognized the demand for a higher level of service between popular Midwest cities at an unbeatable price,” said Greyhound President and CEO Dave Leach.

Customers simply buy their tickets online at www.mygreyhoundexpress.com and print the tickets at home, allowing them to go directly to the gate and their guaranteed seating. A private waiting area near the departure gates is provided at terminal locations. Tickets can be purchased up to three months in advance. The earlier customers purchase a ticket the greater the cost savings.

Greyhound is the largest North American provider of intercity bus transportation, serving more than 3,800 destinations across the continent.
